Why do people date outside marriage
Even after being happily married, people may date for several reasons, such as :
- Men or women having a roving eye. People who like flirting and going out with members of the opposite sex, cannot generally be tamed by the marriage. So they continue with their ways and get cozy with a girl/boy whenever their partner is not around.
- Online Dating is also extremely popular with married men and women. The internet as such, has given ample options for people to seek partners outside a marriage. Married people sneak into Internet chat rooms for romantic or sexual thrills they think they aren't getting from their spouses. At first, the excitement of chatting and making friends on the net seems usually harmless but may culminate into serious relationships, thus affecting the relationship. The Internet has become the most common form of infidelity.
- People have become more demanding and casual when it comes to sex. If the married partners are not satisfied with their sex-life, they generally start looking for other avenues to fulfill their desires.
- If the married couple does not have proper understanding, trust and love for each other, they may betray their partners without giving it a second thought, thus seeking a more meaningful relationship outside marriage.
- If the couple has frequent fights and arguments, they may start looking out for their ideal partner outside marriage.
- Love at workplace is also another reason for people dating outside marriages. People mingle and date their colleagues, at the workplace and a usual coffee-meeting may end up into a raunchy affair.
- In a research done on married people, most people said they loved their spouses but sought an erotic encounter because of boredom, a partner's lack of sexual interest or the need for variety and fun. People have thus become more materialistic and practical. If they don't get what they want from their spouse, they do not hesitate to seek it outside.
- Many people get so involved with their extra marital affairs that they end up divorcing their spouse and continue their flings freely, without the responsibility of a married life.
However it is best to avoid such situations, as it may turn into a messy affair and end up hurting everybody involved including your children.
Tips to married people about the ill effects of dating :
- Do not betray your spouse. Try to work things out with your spouse. If you are not happy about something, discuss it with your spouse and solve your problem.
- It's never a good idea to have sex on the internet via chat rooms. You never know the other person. And don't look for things that give you happiness temporarily.
- Remember that your family is more important to you and leaving your spouse and children just for some fun, doesn't sound good.
- Most spouses feel as betrayed, angry and hurt by online infidelity as they would if skin-to-skin adultery had taken place. So don't end up spoiling your marriage for those few hours of excitement. It's not worth it !
