Meaning of Profanity :
It is a swear word or curse word, or foul language that is generally considered insulting , rude and vulgar. The degree of profanity being disagreeable or objectionable depends on the context, timing and various other factors.
The original meaning of the term was restricted to blasphemy, sacrilege or speaking God's name in vain. However, the term now includes expressions with sexist, derogatory, racist, or sexual themes.
Why is Profanity Wrong
There's nothing wrong with a little profanity. A little bit of cursing, swearing, using bad language, using four letter words, using the F word, the L word, the M word, the P word, the T word, and all the other words may look fine. But don't go overboard with it, because it is considered unethical. Profanity looks normal in the beginning but you may become addicted to using swear words and cuss words, just the way you become addicted to using alcohol, tobacco etc. You may eventually end up receiving flak from all people for it. So it is always better to avoid it from the beginning itself.

It may look harmless, but it often creates a negative or hostile environment, and may signal sexual harassment and lead to violence in extreme cases. Be professional at your workplace and be good to your co-workers.
