Handling Rejection
Rejection in any form can hurt us. None of us like to be rejected, in any situation, but all this is a part and parcel of life. You should know how to deal with it and try to make the experience more bearable. There is a choice in the way we deal with rejection in any form, while dating or after marriage.
When rejected we often react badly and blame ourselves. We also try to find faults with the person who has rejected us. Learn to handle rejection gracefully.
If a prospective partner turns you down, after meeting you, don't blame the world for it. Rejection hurts, but if you allow this type of behavior to continue the only person you really hurt is yourself.
Handling Rejection Gracefully
- Get Over it and Get On with Life! If somebody has rejected you, it does not mean the end of the world. Get on in life. Maybe that person was not worthy of your love.
- Keep yourself occupied in other activities: Don't brood over things and blame yourself for what went wrong. Some relationships are just not meant to be. Don't think about the past. Divert your mind in other activities. Take up a hobby, watch movies, go shopping, pamper yourself.
- Go out with your friends and family. Your family and friends really care about you. Spend time with them. Go to restaurants or picnics together. Have fun !
- Don't keep thinking about him/her and what could be and would be. Whatever happens, is in the best of your interest.
- Don't go into depression. Feel good about your life and make the most of it.
- However Constant rejection may mean you have a bad attitude on dates. So try to examine your behavior.
- If somebody has rejected you, don't lose heart. Try to meet new people and explore opportunities. But don't fall in love all over again so soon. Give some time to yourself and think about your preferences and choose the best person.
- Don't underestimate your personality.
- Fight back. Don't let all this take a toll on your health. Fight back all the odds and you will come out victorious the next time.
- Replace loneliness with positive thinking. That way, you will stay healthier and look attractive to others.
